Landscapes: exterior scenes with the land and natural environment as the primary subject. Action/Events:  scenes in which the subject is in motion and/or that record a specific event (such as sports game, festival/fair, school event). Architecture:  scenes with structures as the primary subject, including cityscapes, interiors and architectural details. Flora:  scenes in which plants are the primary subject, including flowers. People:  scenes in which people are the primary subject.  Miscellaneous:  scenes which do not fit well into a specific category, including still life, abstract and digitally manipulated works. All prizes and awards will be presented at the reception. The reception will commence at 2pm on December 10th.

Submissions for the competition will be judged by Francis Schanberger, a teaching artist with a strong interest in the photograph as an object, and how the photograph is experienced by the viewer. He currently works in several historical photographic processes such as Vandyke Brown, Cyanotype, and gum bichromate. His work is in the collections of museums in Denmark and the United States. He is an Artist-in-Residence at the University of Dayton in southwestern Ohio. This year he has been selected by the Ohio Arts Council to create work for the 2011 Governor’s Awards in the Arts.
